Larynx squamous papilloma

A benign exophytic neoplasm that arises from the larynx, usually the true vocal cords. It is related to human papillomavirus infection and may arise as a single or multiple lesions. It is characterized by the presence of a connective tissue core covered by stratified squamous epithelium. Hoarseness is the presenting symptom. Transformation to carcinoma is rare.
