Heat and immune shot combo shows promise against tough cancers
NCT ID NCT03993678
First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tested a new approach for people with advanced solid tumors that had stopped responding to standard treatments. First, a laser was used to heat and destroy part of the tumor. Then, a drug called IP-001 was injected directly into the treated area to help the body's immune system recognize and attack any remaining cancer cells, even those elsewhere in the body. The goal was to see if this combination is safe and can shrink tumors or keep them from growing.
