Shea butter and niacinamide cream may ease itching for immunotherapy patients

Summary

This study tested whether using creams with niacinamide and shea butter can prevent or reduce skin itching in cancer patients receiving immunotherapy. 130 adults with solid tumors starting checkpoint inhibitor treatment were randomly assigned to use either the test cream or a control cream for 6 months. The goal was to see if the special cream could improve skin comfort and quality of life.
