New hope for fatty liver: stomach procedure may beat diet alone
NCT ID NCT06138821
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a minimally invasive stomach-shrinking procedure (endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty) plus lifestyle changes is better than lifestyle changes alone for treating obesity and a serious liver condition called MASH. About 132 adults with a BMI of 30 or higher will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. The goal is to see if the procedure helps reverse liver damage and improve overall health.
