New device could ease lung pressure in heart failure patients

Summary

This study tests a device that uses radiofrequency energy to treat high blood pressure in the lungs (pulmonary hypertension) in people with heart failure. The goal is to see if it can reduce serious heart events like hospitalizations or death. About 750 adults with stable heart failure and high lung pressure will be randomly assigned to get the procedure or standard medical care, and they will be followed for up to 3 years.
