Can a special doula help new moms beat dangerous postpartum blood pressure?

NCT ID NCT05655936

Summary

This study is testing if adding a specially trained 'heart health doula' to standard care helps new mothers recover from pregnancy-related high blood pressure. Researchers will compare two groups: one gets standard home blood pressure monitoring, and the other gets that plus weekly doula support and extra monitoring. The goal is to see if the doula support leads to better blood pressure control one year after giving birth and helps close health outcome gaps between racial groups.
