New dosing strategy aims to make Alzheimer's drug safer

Summary
This study tests whether changing the dose schedule of donanemab can lower the risk of a brain swelling side effect called ARIA-E while still clearing amyloid plaques. About 1,175 adults with early symptomatic Alzheimer's will receive different dosing regimens over 91 weeks. The goal is to find a safer way to use this treatment.
