First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests a speech therapy program for bilingual Spanish-English or Spanish-Catalan speakers with primary progressive aphasia, a condition that slowly damages language abilities. Sixty participants will receive personalized script training via video sessions, while 30 others will only undergo testing. The goal is to see if therapy improves speech and quality of life, and how bilingualism affects recovery.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide an effective, tailored speech therapy for bilingual individuals with primary progressive aphasia, improving their communication and daily life.
What could go wrong
