Scientists zap brains to unravel emotions

NCT ID NCT05854160

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at how the brain processes emotions by using tiny electrical pulses in people with epilepsy who already have electrodes implanted for surgery. Researchers will measure brain activity and physical responses like sweat to understand how certain brain areas control fear and anxiety. The goal is to learn more about emotion regulation, not to treat any condition directly.
