Summary

This study followed over 18,000 Taiwanese adults to see if a vegetarian diet is linked to a lower risk of several chronic diseases, including dementia, depression, heart disease, stroke, gout, cataracts, gallstones, and urinary tract infections. Researchers used health insurance records to track new cases of these conditions over time. The goal was to understand how diet might help prevent these common health problems.
