First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests whether daridorexant, a recently FDA-approved insomnia drug, can improve sleep quality and daytime alertness in smokers who are trying to quit. Poor sleep is a major reason people relapse during a quit attempt. The study will enroll 44 adult smokers who smoke at least 10 cigarettes per day and are willing to try to reduce or stop smoking for 3 weeks. Participants will take daridorexant and monitor their sleep and smoking using a device and daily diaries.
