This trial asks whether the 'first-night effect'—poorer sleep in an unfamiliar place—impairs next-day strength and muscular endurance, and whether men and women respond differently. Thirty-two resistance-trained adults (16 women, 16 men) will sleep 8 hours at home and 8 hours in a lab, then perform bench press, squat, grip, and jump tests. The goal is to see if sleep environment affects physical performance and if the impact varies by sex.
