Summary
This study tests whether watching a virtual reality (VR) video of an ECT session can lower anxiety and improve understanding in people about to have ECT for the first time. About 64 participants will be randomly assigned to either view the VR video or have a standard talk with their doctor. Researchers will measure anxiety, heart rate, blood pressure, and knowledge about ECT before and after the session.
