First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether adding TECAR therapy or shock wave therapy to standard treatment (complex decongestive therapy) could better reduce leg swelling in severely obese women with lymphedema. Forty-five women took part, receiving one of three treatments over four weeks. Researchers measured changes in leg size, pain, and quality of life at the start, after treatment, and at an 8-week follow-up.
