Breakthrough hope: new drug aims to lift depression in days, not weeks

NCT ID NCT06511908

Summary

This study is testing whether a new, fast-acting drug called (2R,6R)-HNK can help people with major depression who haven't gotten better with standard treatments. Fifty participants will receive intravenous infusions of either the study drug or a placebo over several weeks to see if it reduces depression symptoms and suicidal thoughts more quickly and effectively than current options. The goal is to find a better treatment for this serious and difficult-to-manage condition.
