NCT ID NCT06879639
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at whether 10 weeks of regular exercise (on land or in water) can lower blood sugar and blood pressure in people aged 60 and older who have several health conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, and arthritis. 63 volunteers will be split into two exercise groups or a no-exercise control group. The goal is to see if exercise is a practical way to improve health in older adults with multiple illnesses.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- physical exercise (land-based or aquatic)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could show that structured exercise is a safe, drug-free way to help older adults manage multiple chronic conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage study with only 63 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. Exercise may not improve outcomes for all individuals, and adherence can be challenging.
