New hope for kids with tough cancers: scientists test 'Re-Trained' immune cells
NCT ID NCT04483778
Summary
This early-stage study is testing a new type of personalized cell therapy for children and young adults whose solid tumors have come back or haven't responded to other treatments. Doctors take a patient's own immune cells, modify them in a lab to better recognize and attack cancer, and then infuse them back into the patient. The main goals are to find a safe dose, see if the cells can be reliably made, and check for any early signs that the treatment might help shrink tumors.
