First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looked at whether losing weight before in vitro fertilization (IVF) helps overweight and obese women have a live birth. Researchers followed 197 women aged 20-36 who were trying to get pregnant for the first time with IVF. Some women followed a diet and exercise program for 3 months before starting IVF, while others went straight to treatment. The goal was to see if weight loss improved the chance of having a baby.
