Canadian scientists test 'Precision' cancer treatment based on tumor DNA

NCT ID NCT04273061

Summary

This Canadian study is testing whether a personalized approach to cancer treatment works. It gives the immunotherapy drug atezolizumab to about 200 patients with advanced breast, lung, or other cancers, but only if their tumor's genetic analysis suggests they might respond. The goal is to see if this genetic 'matchmaking' helps control the cancer better than standard approaches.
