Quit smoking before surgery? new program aims to cut complications
NCT ID NCT05192837
Summary
This study tested if a 4-week stop-smoking program before major surgery could reduce complications after the operation. It involved 251 adult smokers scheduled for cancer or other major surgeries. The goal was to see if the structured quitting program led to fewer health problems and shorter hospital stays compared to just getting simple advice to quit.
