Ozone gas tested to soothe agonizing mouth sores in cancer patients

NCT ID NCT07491536

Summary

This study is testing if a treatment using medical ozone gas can help reduce the severity of painful mouth sores caused by chemotherapy or radiation, especially for head and neck cancer patients. Fifty participants will be randomly assigned to receive either ozone therapy alone or ozone therapy plus a special at-home oral care routine with specific toothpaste and mouthwash. Researchers will follow patients for 30 days to see which approach better reduces pain, improves swallowing, and enhances overall mouth health and quality of life.
