Vitamin B3 shows promise against fatty liver disease in new trial

Summary
This study tests whether a daily dose of nicotinamide (a form of vitamin B3) can stop or reverse liver scarring (fibrosis) in people with fatty liver disease. Thirty overweight or obese adults with liver scarring will take either nicotinamide or a placebo for one year. Researchers will use scans and tests to measure changes in liver health, body fat, and inflammation.
