Vitamin B3 trial aims to halt liver damage
NCT ID NCT06599918
Summary
This study is testing whether a form of vitamin B3 called nicotinamide can stop or even reverse liver scarring (fibrosis) in people with fatty liver disease. About 30 overweight or obese adults will take either nicotinamide or a placebo pill daily for one year. Researchers will use scans and blood tests to see if the treatment improves liver health and related factors like weight, inflammation, and gut bacteria.
