Beyond h. pylori: a hidden stomach bacteria may influence cancer risk
NCT ID NCT07770126
First seen Aug 18, 2026 ยท Last updated Aug 18, 2026
Summary
This study investigates whether certain Helicobacter bacteria other than H. pylori are present in people with various stomach conditions, including chronic gastritis, precancerous changes, and gastric cancer. Researchers will analyze biopsy samples from about 150 patients to measure how common these bacteria are and how they might affect gene expression related to stomach mucus. The goal is to better understand if these bacteria contribute to the development of stomach diseases and cancer.
