Summary
This study tested whether a natural steroid called pregnenolone could help reduce depression in women going through menopause or perimenopause. 73 women took either pregnenolone or a placebo for a set period. Researchers measured changes in mood, anxiety, thinking, and quality of life to see if the steroid offered any benefit over the placebo.
