ECMO breakthrough? major trial aims to cut deadly complications

Summary

This study is testing different treatments to reduce major complications and improve survival in 600 adults who need ECMO—a machine that does the work of the heart and lungs. Researchers will compare how well these treatments work in the first 28 days. The goal is to find safer, more effective ways to care for critically ill patients on ECMO.
