Summary
This Phase 3 trial tests whether dapagliflozin (Forxiga), a drug originally for diabetes, can reduce the risk of death, kidney failure, and heart failure hospitalization in 1750 people with severe chronic kidney disease. Unlike earlier studies, this trial includes patients on dialysis and those with a kidney transplant. Participants take either 10 mg of dapagliflozin or a placebo daily, and researchers will track outcomes over time.
