Early drug may ease nerve pain after spinal injury

Summary
This study tests whether giving calcitonin early after a spinal cord injury can lower the chance or severity of nerve pain. About 126 adults with a recent spinal injury will receive either calcitonin or a placebo. Researchers will track pain levels and side effects for up to a year.
