First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Researchers measured changes in binge eating episodes and diabetes severity.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

cognitive behavioral therapy (group sessions)

What this could lead to

If successful, this approach could offer a way to reduce binge eating and improve diabetes management in people with both conditions.

What could go wrong

This was a small, completed study with only 34 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The waitlist design also limits what can be concluded.
