NCT ID NCT07755631
First seen Aug 10, 2026 · Last updated Aug 11, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This pilot study tests a lifestyle intervention called BASIC-S, which uses coaching, text messages, and video check-ins to help people improve blood pressure, activity, sleep, social connection, nutrition, and support. The goal is to see if this approach is feasible and acceptable for reducing vascular risk factors that can lead to stroke, heart disease, and dementia. Participants are adults employed at or retired from a specific health center, along with their partners, and will be randomly assigned to either the intervention or standard care.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- A behavioral intervention combining wellness coaching, digital workbook, motivational text messages, and video booster sessions to support lifestyle changes.
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this program could offer a practical, scalable way to help people lower their risk of stroke, heart disease, and dementia through lifestyle changes.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small pilot study focused on feasibility, not effectiveness. The intervention may not produce significant health improvements, and results may not apply to broader populations.
