New PET scan aims to spot hidden cancers with precision

NCT ID NCT02293954

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a special PET scan that uses a radioactive antibody (64Cu-M5A) to find cancers that produce a protein called CEA. The goal is to see if this scan can detect tumors that standard methods might miss. About 20 adults with CEA-positive cancers (such as breast, colon, lung, or pancreatic cancer) will receive the injection and have scans on day 1 and day 2.
