Smart immune cells take aim at Hard-to-Treat cancers

Summary
This study tests a new treatment using a patient's own immune cells, called CAR T cells, that are specially designed to target and kill solid tumor cells while leaving healthy cells unharmed. It is for adults with certain advanced cancers, including lung, colon, pancreatic, ovarian, and mesothelioma, that have not responded to other treatments. The study has two phases: first to find a safe dose, and second to see if the treatment shrinks tumors.
