First seen Feb 25, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tests a new device called the Trans-Duodenal Barrier, a temporary implant placed in the upper small intestine for 6 months. It aims to lower blood sugar (HbA1c) and help with weight loss in adults with type 2 diabetes and obesity. Researchers will also check if it improves liver health in patients with MASH. The implant is removed after 6 months, and participants are followed for 4 more weeks.
