Cherry juice trial aims to shield cancer patients from Chemo's painful side effect

Summary

This study is testing whether drinking tart cherry juice can prevent nerve pain (neuropathy) caused by a common chemotherapy drug called paclitaxel. It will enroll 86 people with breast or ovarian cancer who are starting this type of chemo. Participants will be randomly assigned to drink either a high or low daily dose of the juice to see which is more effective at preventing this painful side effect.
