NCT ID NCT06258525

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests whether taking S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe), a common supplement, can prevent liver injury caused by the chemotherapy drug oxaliplatin in people with colorectal cancer that has spread to the liver. About 30 participants will take SAMe pills daily for 3-6 months alongside their chemo, then have liver surgery. Researchers will check liver tissue for damage and compare it to past patients who did not take SAMe.
