First seen Nov 05, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looked at whether measuring your resting metabolic rate (the calories your body burns at rest) before bariatric surgery could help predict how much weight you lose afterward. Researchers planned to follow 84 adults scheduled for their first weight-loss surgery. The study was stopped early, so results are limited.
