Laser light may soothe diabetic nerve pain

Summary
This study tests a non-invasive light therapy called photobiomodulation (low-level laser) for people with diabetic peripheral neuropathy—nerve damage causing pain, tingling, and numbness in the feet. 36 adults with type 2 diabetes and foot pain for at least 6 months will receive either real laser or a sham treatment on their feet every other day for two weeks. Researchers will measure changes in pain and quality of life to see if the light therapy helps.
