Summary

This study tested whether a self-administered oxytocin nasal spray could reduce pain and improve function in older adults with knee osteoarthritis. Over 4 weeks, 83 participants used either the spray or a placebo. The goal was to see if oxytocin, a natural pain-relieving hormone, could safely ease arthritis pain and help understand how it works in the aging brain.
