NCT ID NCT05238103
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested a virtual cardiac rehabilitation program using a smartphone app, a fitness wristband, and a blood pressure monitor for people who recently had a heart attack, heart surgery, or a stent. The goal was to see if this home-based program could improve walking ability, cholesterol, and overall heart health compared to traditional in-person rehab. The trial enrolled 259 adults and followed them for 12 weeks.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Corrie Hybrid Cardiac Rehabilitation Program (smartphone app, wristband, blood pressure monitor, exercise bands, health coaching)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that a virtual cardiac rehab program is as good as or better than in-person rehab for improving heart health and quality of life.
What could go wrong
This is a completed trial, but it is relatively small (259 participants) and only followed patients for 12 weeks. Results may not apply to all heart patients or show long-term benefits.
