Summary
This study looks at whether the diabetes drug metformin, combined with a low-calorie diet, helps overweight or obese adults with a large waistline lose weight. About 150 participants will take either metformin or a placebo for 24 weeks. The main goal is to see if at least 5% of body weight is lost, and how the treatment affects quality of life and physical activity.
