First seen Nov 15, 2025 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 35 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving a lung medication (surfactant) mixed with an anti-inflammatory drug (budesonide) to extremely premature babies (born before 29 weeks) who are still on a breathing machine at 7-14 days old can safely prevent a serious lung condition called bronchopulmonary dysplasia. About 24 infants will be enrolled to check for immediate side effects and breathing improvements. The goal is to find a better way to protect these fragile babies' lungs.
