Heart attack study tests if delayed artery opening still saves heart muscle
NCT ID NCT02445885
First seen Apr 11, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looks at whether opening a blocked heart artery 12 to 36 hours after a heart attack can help the heart recover. It involves 150 stable patients who will be randomly assigned to get the procedure right away or wait a few days. The goal is to see if earlier treatment saves more heart muscle, even when the usual 12-hour window has passed.
