Massage therapy may ease swelling in preterm infants
NCT ID NCT07418814
First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tests whether a daily 15-minute massage can reduce fluid buildup (lymphedema) and improve comfort in premature newborns in the NICU. Forty infants will be split into two groups: one receiving standard care, the other adding massage for 14 days. Researchers will measure limb swelling and use a comfort scale to see if massage helps these fragile babies feel better.
