First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looks at whether heart failure patients with a lower risk of dangerous heart rhythms live longer without an implantable defibrillator (ICD) compared to those who get one. About 3,290 adults with reduced heart pumping function will be followed to see who dies or has major heart problems. The goal is to find out if avoiding ICDs is safe and better for certain patients.
