Poop transplant trial aims to stop cancer drug diarrhea

NCT ID NCT04038619

Summary

This study is testing whether transferring healthy gut bacteria from a donor (fecal microbiota transplantation) can help reduce severe diarrhea and colon inflammation caused by cancer immunotherapy drugs. The trial will enroll 40 patients with various cancers who developed these side effects while on treatment. Researchers will check if the transplant is safe and if it helps control these difficult symptoms so patients might continue their cancer therapy.
