Poop transplant trial aims to tame harsh cancer drug side effect

NCT ID NCT04038619

Summary

This study is testing if a fecal microbiota transplant (FMT) can safely and effectively treat severe diarrhea and colon inflammation caused by immunotherapy drugs in cancer patients. The treatment involves transferring stool from a healthy donor into the patient's colon during a procedure. Researchers want to see if this can resolve the gut problems and allow patients to potentially continue their cancer therapy.
