Study to check if joint replacement surgery causes short-term memory fog in seniors
NCT ID NCT07598552
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether people aged 70 and older experience changes in thinking skills, like attention and processing speed, after same-day hip or knee replacement surgery. About 48 participants will take a short cognitive test before surgery and again on the first and seventh day after. The goal is to understand if these surgeries cause temporary cognitive changes, not to test a treatment.
