NCT ID NCT07521722
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study will check if levels of Alzheimer's-related substances in the blood differ among the main ethnic groups living in central Barcelona. Researchers will also look at how age, income, education, and health conditions affect these levels. The goal is to identify barriers to using these blood tests in primary care and ensure everyone has fair access to early Alzheimer's prevention. The study will involve 250 cognitively healthy adults aged 50 to 75.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ not medical advice or a prediction.
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this study could help ensure that Alzheimer's blood tests work equally well for all ethnic groups, leading to fairer early detection and prevention strategies.
- What could go wrong
- This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. It will not test any drug or therapy, so it cannot directly improve health. Results may show differences but not explain why or lead to immediate changes in care.
