Can mushroom and apple compounds boost your immune system?
NCT ID NCT05190432
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This pilot study is testing whether two natural dietary supplements—taxifolin (found in apples and onions) and ergothioneine (found in mushrooms)—can improve immune function in healthy adults aged 50 to 65. Researchers will measure how well immune cells engulf and destroy threats. The goal is to understand if these compounds can help counter age-related immune decline.
