Summary
This study tested whether a computer-based decision support system (DSS) helps doctors start or intensify cholesterol-lowering treatments earlier in patients who have had a heart attack. Over 1,100 patients from multiple hospitals took part. The DSS provided risk estimates but did not recommend specific drugs. Researchers compared outcomes between hospitals using the DSS and those providing standard care alone.
