First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looked at whether community organizations can successfully run a healthy lifestyle program called Deaf Weight Wise (DWW) for Deaf adults who use American Sign Language. The program involved 16 weekly group sessions led by a trained Deaf counselor via Zoom. Researchers measured how many sites delivered the program as planned and tracked changes in participants' eating habits. The goal was to see if this approach could be used more widely to promote healthier living in the Deaf community.
